Official Release | November 17, 2017

Averaged 14.2 Points, 3.8 Rebounds, 2.3 Assists and 1.5 Steals Over Six Games with Santa Cruz Warriors In 2017-18

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – Santa Cruz Warriors guard Antonius Cleveland has signed a two-way contract with the Dallas Mavericks, the team announced today. Cleveland will be on the Mavericks active roster tonight as the team hosts the Minnesota Timberwolves (tip-off at 5:30 p.m. PST).

Per NBA rules, Cleveland can spend up to 45 days this season with the Dallas Mavericks, with the remainder of the 2017-18 season spent with the Texas Legends, the team’s NBA G League affiliate.

“In six games, Antonius Cleveland showcased to the entire league his team-first attitude and ability to play on both sides of the ball,” said Santa Cruz Warriors Head Coach Aaron Miles. “Every G League player strives to one day earn their NBA call-up, so I’m thrilled for Antonius to be joining the Dallas Mavericks organization and wish him the best of luck this season.”

In six games with the Santa Cruz Warriors, the 6’6 first-year wing averaged 14.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.5 steals in 25.2 minutes per game with .596/.545/.895 shooting averages. Signed by the Golden State Warriors as a training camp invite following the 2017 NBA Draft, the 23-year-old ended his collegiate career at Southeast Missouri State as the fifth leading scorer in Redhawks history with 1,556 career points.

Cleveland is the first Santa Cruz Warrior to earn a GATORADE Call-Up since guard Elliot Williams was acquired by the Memphis Grizzlies on January 8, 2016. He is the second NBA G League player to receive a Call-Up this season. The first was forward Tyler Cavanaugh, who signed a two-way contract with the Atlanta Hawks on November 7 after one game with the Erie Bayhawks.

The Santa Cruz Warriors roster currently stands at 12 players. The team will host the Long Island Nets tonight for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off at Kaiser Permanente Arena. The team will host its first Jersey Night, presented by Plantronics, with canned goods and cash donations raised throughout the night to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank.
