Santa Cruz County Students Who Improve Attendance Record Will Win Tickets to Warriors Home Games
SANTA CRUZ, CA – The Santa Cruz Warriors and the Monterey Bay Economic Partnership will continue the MBEP Scholars Program this season to encourage Santa Cruz County students to strive for excellent school attendance, the team announced today. Local elementary and middle school students who display excellence or improvement in their attendance records will win two free tickets to a Santa Cruz Warriors home game this season.
“The Santa Cruz Warriors are thrilled to continue the MBEP Scholars program to incentivize local students to maintain and improve their school attendance,” said Warriors President Chris Murphy. “We want to support local teachers and school administrators in their efforts to keep classrooms full and to support our local youth in their academic journey.”
18 participating schools from Live Oak School District, Pajaro Valley Unified School District, Santa Cruz City Schools and Soquel Union Elementary School District will each select one student for every Santa Cruz Warriors home game to attend with a guest. The MBEP Scholars Student Section will also be recognized on the Kaiser Permanente Arena videoboard at every home game this season.
“The MBEP Scholars Program highlights to our community’s youth the importance of strong personal school attendance and that these efforts will be recognized and rewarded,” said Monterey Bay Economic Partnership Co-Chairman Bud Colligan. “We’re excited to partner with schools to help students develop a lifelong love of learning and help them achieve their highest potential.”
