SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – The NBA D-League Champion Santa Cruz Warriors have finalized a deal to bring back Casey Hill as head coach for the 2015-16 season, the team announced today. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
“We are excited to have Casey continue his tenure with the Santa Cruz Warriors,” said Associate General Manager Pat Sund. “He has had individual success developing players for Golden State and team success winning the NBA D-League Championship. We are looking forward to another productive season with Coach Hill.”

Over the past two seasons, the Boerne, Texas, native has coached eight Golden State Warriors during their assignments to Santa Cruz while developing five Warriors who earned a total of 14 GATORADE Call-Ups to the NBA. Hill and his staff played an integral part in the Santa Cruz Warriors earning the 2013-14 NBA D-League “Development Champion” award, an annual honor that recognizes the team that best embodies the league’s goals of developing NBA basketball talent via Call-Ups and assignments.
Before his promotion to head coach, Hill spent the previous two seasons as an assistant coach of the franchise, helping lead the Warriors to the NBA D-League Finals during the 2012-13 season. “I couldn’t be happier to return to Santa Cruz for another season,” said Head Coach Casey Hill. “Working with the Golden State staff for another year means another opportunity for me to grow and learn under one of the most progressive, professional and inclusive organizations in all of professional sports. I’m absolutely thrilled.”
