Santa Cruz Warriors Beat Iowa Wolves, 111-102

SANTA CRUZ, CA – The Santa Cruz Warriors (11-17) beat the Iowa Wolves (13-15) Wednesday night at Kaiser Permanente Arena, 111-102.

Santa Cruz was led by a trio of double-doubles; forward Jerome Robinson finished the night with 21 points and 11 assists, forward LJ Figueroa added 13 points and 17 rebounds and center Selom Mawugbe earned 15 points and 10 rebounds in the Sea Dubs win.

Center Chris Silva led the Wolves with 28 points, 15 rebounds and five assists. Forward Melvin Frazier Jr. followed with 12 points and nine rebounds and guard Isaiah Miller added 24 points and five assists off the bench.

The Sea Dubs went on a 16-0 run to kick off the first quarter, but the Wolves brought the lead to within seven points going into the second quarter down 31-24. Iowa came back to take the lead early in the second quarter, closing out the half with a 63-62 point lead over the Warriors.

Santa Cruz regained the lead in the third quarter, heading into the final frame with an 86-81 lead over the Wolves. Santa Cruz held the Wolves to 39 second half points, equivalent to the Wolves points scored in the second quarter alone, and were able to maintain the lead throughout the fourth quarter to close out the game with a 111-102 win
