Warriors and Togo’s Donate Lunch To Second Harvest Food Bank

Official Release | April 24, 2020

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – The Santa Cruz Warriors and Togo’s of Capitola, Scotts Valley and Watsonville are donating lunch to the workers and volunteers of Second Harvest Food Bank, announced today. Warriors mascot, Mav’Riks, will be helping deliver the meals to the staff and volunteers.

In a joint effort to support the tireless work of the Second Harvest Food Bank, the Warriors and Togo’s of Capitola, Scotts Valley and Watsonville are donating 70 boxed lunches to all the staff and healthy volunteers as a small thank you for the work they are doing around the clock during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Food Bank has answered twice as many calls for assistance since the start of the statewide shelter-in-place effective March 16, 2020. With many community members losing their jobs, Second Harvest Food Bank has stepped in to provide food, as they always have since 1972 (second oldest food bank in the nation).
