Warriors Sign Guard Quinn Cook to Two-Way Contract

Two-Time NBA G League All-Star Joins Chris Boucher as Team’s Two-Way Players for 2017-18 Season

SANTA CRUZ, CA – The Golden State Warriors announced today the signing of free agent guard Quinn Cook to a two-way contract. Cook joins former University of Oregon forward Chris Boucher as the team’s two-way players for the 2017-18 season.

A two-time NBA G League All-Star selection with the Canton Charge, Cook (6-2, 179) averaged 22.6 points, 6.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 36.0 minutes in 82 games (75 starts) over the past two seasons. In 2016-17, Cook, also garnered a 2017 NBA G League First-Team selection as well as the 2017 NBA All-Star Game MVP Award after recording 18 points, a game-high 12 assists and seven rebounds.

“We’re thrilled to sign Quinn Cook, a proven team leader and elite player in the NBA G League, to a two-way contract with the Warriors organization.” said General Manager Kent Lacob. “This is a signing where the needs of both the NBA franchise and the NBA G League roster are aligned, and I believe he will be in a position to thrive for both teams this season.”

Cook, 24, appeared in five preseason games with the Atlanta Hawks this month, averaging 3.4 points and 1.2 assists in 9.4 minutes per game. Last season, Cook earned two NBA call-ups with the Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans, averaging 5.6 points and 1.9 assists in 13.4 minutes over 14 contests.

A native of Washington, D.C., Cook enjoyed a four-year career at Duke University that concluded with the 2015 NCAA Tournament Championship. Cook ranks 28th on Duke’s all-time scoring list with 1,571 points and is one of seven players in school history to score at least 1,000 points and dish 500 assists.

This is the first year NBA teams can utilize two-way contracts, allowing teams to sign two players in addition to the 15-man regular season roster. Players assigned to two-way contracts can spend up to 45 days of service with their respective NBA team and will also spend time with the team’s NBA G League affiliate.
