Santa Cruz Suffers First Loss Of Regular Season Against Texas, 126-121

FRISCO, TX – The Santa Cruz Warriors (3-1) lost their first game of the regular season to the Texas Legends (1-1) on Friday night, 126-121. After being down by as many as 16 points in the second half, Santa Cruz fought back to within three-points with 66 seconds remaining, led by Golden State Warriors Assignment Guard Moses Moody’s 20 points in the fourth quarter, but were unsuccessful in the comeback.

The two teams battled to a draw in the first quarter, 26-26. The Legends then outscored the Warriors 20-7 in the final five minutes of the second quarter and took a seven-point lead into halftime, 62-55. The Warriors trailed the entire second half and lost for the first time this regular season.

Moody finished the night with 32 points (6-10 3FG) and forward LJ Figueroa followed closely behind with 25 points and nine rebounds.  Taylor added 15 points all behind the arc (5-8 3FG). Despite scoring zero points, guard Frankie Ferrari dished out 16 assists.

Jones and Legends Forward Justin Jackson both added 23 points for the Legends. Guard DeJon Jerreau added 18 points and 12 rebounds.
