Santa Cruz Warriors Close Our Regular Season with Win Against Texas Legends

The Santa Cruz Warriors (18-14) beat the Texas Legends (7-25), 134-111, in the team’s regular season finale tonight at Kaiser Permanente Arena.  

Golden State Warriors two-way guard Lester Quinones led Santa Cruz with a double-double, notching 31 points and 11 rebounds. Center Jayce Johnson also secured a double-double, adding 21 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Gui Santos also notched a double-double, contributing 17 points and 11 rebounds, and forward Patrick Baldwin Jr., on assignment from Golden State, rounded out the Warriors’ four double-doubles, adding 14 points and 11 rebounds to the Warriors’ win tonight. Guard Eli Pemberton added 20 points and seven rebounds off the bench for Santa Cruz.  

The Legends were led by center Justin Jackson, who added 28 points. Guard Amauri Hardy contributed 22 points and eight assists, and guard Kalob Ledoux notched 19 points off the bench for Texas tonight.  

Texas opened the matchup strong, building a slight advantage over Santa Cruz early in the quarter. The Warriors took the lead with three minutes remaining in the frame, however the Legends held a two-point advantage heading into the second quarter, 30-28. The second quarter featured seven lead changes, but Texas came out on top at the half, 59-58.   

After multiple lead changes in the third quarter, the Sea Dubs built an advantage of as many as 10 points over Texas. Santa Cruz sustained their lead, leading the Legends by eight points heading into the final frame with a 97-89 lead. The contest stayed close throughout the fourth quarter, however Santa Cruz maintained their advantage, beating the Legends 134-111.
