Santa Cruz Warriors Fall to Cleveland Charge, 127-110

The Santa Cruz Warriors (12-11) fell to the Cleveland Charge (14-11), 127-110, Saturday afternoon at Chase Center, home of the Golden State Warriors, in San Francisco, CA. 

   Guard Moses Moody, on assignment from Golden State, led the Warriors with 24 points and added six rebounds. Guard Lester Quinones, also on assignment from Golden State, added 24 points and five rebounds, and guard Jordan Schakel contributed 12 points and five rebounds off the bench for Santa Cruz. 

   Forward Sharife Cooper led the Charge with 26 points and ten assists, and guard Justin James put up 25 points off the bench. Guard Isaiah Mobley added 19 points and eight rebounds in the win.

   There were five lead changes through the first four minutes of the game before the Charge built momentum and closed the quarter with a 27-23 lead. Ten second quarter points from Quinones helped the Warriors win the third quarter, 35-33, however they trailed by two, heading into the second half, 60-58. 

   The Charge maintained the lead throughout the second half, building an advantage of as many as 23 points over the Sea Dubs. The Warriors offense fought back in the fourth quarter but could not regain the lead, and ultimately fell to the Charge, 127-110. 

   The Santa Cruz Warriors will now travel for a two-game series against the Birmingham Squadron on Tuesday, March 7 at 9 a.m. PT and Thursday, March 9 at 5 p.m. PT at Legacy Arena in Birmingham, AL.
