Santa Cruz Warriors Fall to G League Ignite, 122-118

SANTA CRUZ, CA – The Santa Cruz Warriors (8-8) fell to the G League Ignite (4-12), 122-118, on Friday night at Kaiser Permanente Arena.
Forward Lester Quinones earned a game-high 24 points for the Warriors tonight and added five rebounds. Forward Gui Santos followed closely with 18 points and center Trevion Williams finished the night with a double-double, notching 13 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. Center Jayce Johnson closed out the night with 15 points and seven rebounds off the bench for Santa Cruz.
Guard Pooh Jeter led the Ignite with 22 points and six assists off the bench and center Eric Mika added 12 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Forward Leonard Miller finished with 13 points and five rebounds.
The Ignite went on an 11-0 run to open the contest and were able to secure a 34-20 lead heading into the second quarter. The Warriors offense came within six points in the second quarter, but 15 first-half points from Jeter helped the Ignite hold a 67-59 lead at the half.
The Ignite maintained the lead throughout the third quarter, heading into the final frame with a 97-90 lead over the Sea Dubs. Back-to-back three-point shots by Warriors guard Dusty Hannahs mid-way through the fourth quarter gave the Sea Dubs the lead for the first time in the contest, 112-109. The Warriors trailed 120-118 with 32 seconds remaining in the contest, but two points from Jeter helped secure the win for the Ignite, 122-118.
The Sea Dubs will now travel to Las Vegas, NV for the final two games of the Showcase Cup and will start the regular season against the Stockton Kings for back-to-back games on December 29 and 30 at 7:00 p.m. PST at Kaiser Permanente Arena.
