Santa Cruz Warriors Fall to Salt Lake City Stars

The Santa Cruz Warriors (3-5) fell to the Salt Lake City Stars (3-4), 128-97, on Tuesday night in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The game stayed close throughout the first quarter, however the Stars sustained a short lead throughout, heading into the second quarter with a 36-25 lead over the Warriors. A dunk from forward Trevion Williams tied up the game 43-43 mid-way in the second quarter however the Warriors trailed the Stars at the half, 60-52. Guard Dusty Hannahs came off the bench to tally 22 of his 28 points in the first half.

Salt Lake City closed out the third quarter on a 14-0 run and extended their lead into the fourth, 99-72. The Stars maintained the lead throughout the fourth quarter eventually building a 34-point advantage over the Sea Dubs. The lead was ultimately too big to overcome, and the Warriors fell short to the Stars.

The Warriors were led by Dusty Hannahs with 28 points off the bench. Guard Lester Quinones finished the game with 19 points and center James Wiseman put up 15 points and eight rebounds.

The Stars were led by forward Tyler Cook with 24 points and guard Jeenathan Williams with 20 points. Guard Ochai Agbaji and forward Paris Bass contributed 19 points each.
