Santa Cruz Warriors Finalize 2021-22 Coaching And Training Staff

SANTA CRUZ, CA – The Santa Cruz Warriors, the NBA G League affiliate of the Golden State Warriors, have finalized the coaching and training staff under first year head coach Seth Cooper for the 2021-22 NBA G League season. James Andrisevic, Anthony Vereen and Nick Kerr will be assistant coaches. Toral Desai has been named head athletic trainer and Andre Mattson has been named head performance coach.

The team also announced Mac Osborne as manager of basketball operations and team player development and Michael Salame as manager of basketball operations and player personnel, both returning for their third seasons. Erin Bollmann and Maurius Hill will serve as coaching associates and basketball operations coordinators and Andrew Gong as the team’s assistant athletic trainer.

“I am thrilled to welcome some familiar faces and new faces to Santa Cruz for this season,” said Cooper. “This group of coaches and staff are accomplished in development of young players and will be great mentors to our team this season. We are excited to get on the court and get to work.”

Andrisevic is entering his fifth overall season on the Santa Cruz staff and is in his second stint with Santa Cruz, being a part of the 2015 Championship team. Andrisevic has guided seven players to Gatorade call-ups during the past three seasons.

Vereen is entering his fourth season with Santa Cruz. In the past four seasons, Vereen has seen eight players receive a Gatorade call-up. Vereen was also a player on the Santa Cruz Warriors 2015 NBA D-League Championship team.

Kerr is entering his first season as an assistant coach and was formerly the Golden State Warriors video coordinator and player development coach.

Desai is entering her first season with Santa Cruz after spending the past seven seasons with UCLA Athletics and Mattson is entering his second season, spending last season with Santa Cruz in the NBA G League single site.

“I am excited to get to work with this staff,” said first year general manager David Fatoki. “This group is familiar with the Warriors organization and will continue our team on a path of excellence. I look forward to competing for a championship in Santa Cruz with this staff this season.”

The Santa Cruz Warriors open the 2021-22 NBA G League season with back-to-back games against the Stockton Kings on November 5 and 6. Tip-off for both games is at 7:00pm. On November 5, all fans will receive an Opening Night T-shirt, presented by Kaiser Permanente. On November 6, all fans in attendance will receive a Local Heroes Night Rally Towel in Honor of fallen Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Sergeant, Damon Gutzwiller.
