Santa Cruz Warriors Overtake Austin Spurs, 126-105

The Santa Cruz Warriors (10-9) beat the Austin Spurs (6-14), 126-105, Wednesday night at Kaiser Permanente Arena.
Santa Cruz was led by guard Lester Quinones, who notched a double-double with 30 points and 10 rebounds. Center Jayce Johnson also secured a double-double tonight, contributing 19 points and a season-high 22 rebounds to the win. Guard Jerome Robinson added 22 points, and guard Hyunjung Lee added seven points and nine rebounds off the bench for the Sea Dubs tonight.
Guard Brandon Randolph led Austin with 22 points and five rebounds. Center Jordan Hall added 18 points and five assists, and guard Marcus Zegarowski contributed 15 points off the bench for the Spurs.
Santa Cruz opened the contest on a 6-0 run, but Austin never let the lead grow past six points during the first quarter. With just over two minutes left in the frame, the Spurs took the lead, but the Sea Dubs responded, winning the quarter 29-27. The second quarter opened with a splash as the Warriors pulled ahead of the Spurs by up to 16 points. Santa Cruz held their lead across the rest of the second quarter, closing out the half with a 65-51 advantage.
The Warriors extended their lead to as many as 23 points in the third quarter, ending with an and-one from Quinones with five seconds remaining to take a 97-81 lead heading into the final frame. The Spurs struggled to catch up to the Sea Dubs, and the Warriors ultimately kept them at bay, winning the game 126-105.
