Santa Cruz Warriors Overtake Westchester Knicks, 114-108

The Santa Cruz Warriors (13-13) overtook the Westchester Knicks (9-17), 114-108, on Saturday evening at Kaiser Permanente Arena in Santa Cruz, California in front of a sold out crowd.

   The Sea Dubs were led by guard Dusty Hannahs, who scored a season-high 33 points. Center Jayce Johnson secured a double-double, notching 20 rebounds and ten points. Guard JaQuori McLaughlin contributed 18 points, six rebounds, and five assists in the win. 

    Forward Trevor Keels led the Knicks with 22 points, and forward Moses Brown added 18 points and 17 rebounds. Guard Justin Wright-Foreman added 17 points off the bench for Westchester tonight. 

   The matchup opened with a back and forth that lasted for much of the first quarter and featured nine lead changes before the Knicks pulled ahead, taking the quarter, 34-28. The Knicks built an advantage of as many as 11 points, but the Sea Dubs responded, taking the lead back with three minutes left in the frame. Santa Cruz sustained their momentum, ending the first half with a ten-point lead, 65-55. 

    The Sea Dubs kept their energy up, extending their advantage to as many as 14 points in the third quarter and held a 91-85 lead heading into the final frame. Westchester closed the scoring gap to six points with one-minute remaining in the matchup, but the Sea Dubs sealed the deal, overtaking the Knicks, 114-108.
