Santa Cruz Warriors Trade for E.J. Onu

The Santa Cruz Warriors today announced that they have agreed to a trade with the Memphis Hustle for center E.J. Onu in exchange for the returning player rights to guard Tremont Waters. This trade is not subject to a physical.
Onu is averaging 6.5 points and 2.1 rebounds in 15.4 minutes per game across 11 games (five starts) with the Memphis Hustle this season.
Waters owns averages of 17.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 29.2 minutes per game across 17 games with the Metropolitans 92 of the LNB Pro A (France) this season. Waters never played a game for the Santa Cruz Warriors, who held his NBA G League rights.
In corresponding roster news, the Santa Cruz Warriors have waived guard Zeke Moore. Moore played in 26 games (seven starts) this season averaging 9.5 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 24.2 minutes per game.
The Warriors will travel to the UCLA Health Training Facility in El Segundo, CA for a two-game series against the South Bay Lakers on January 27 and 29. The Warriors return to Kaiser Permanente Arena on February 3 at 7pm to face the Ontario Clippers and host the team’s annual Black History Month Celebration game, presented by Chase.
