Warriors Announce Preseason Games

SANTA CRUZ, CA – The Santa Cruz Warriors will play three preseason games prior to the start of the 2021-22 season, presented by Kaiser Permanente. Santa Cruz will host the Mexico City Capitanes on October 29 and October 30 at Kaiser Permanente Arena, before playing NBA G League Ignite in the final preseason game on November 3 at Chase Center, home of the Golden State Warriors.
Fans will be allowed in attendance for the two Mexico City games at Kaiser Permanente Arena. Tip-off for both games is 7 p.m. PT. Tickets are on sale now and will start as low as $10. These games will mark the first Santa Cruz Warriors home games at Kaiser Permanente Arena since February 2020.
Santa Cruz will finish the preseason versus the NBA G League Ignite at Chase Center on November 3 with a 1:30 p.m. PT tip-off. The game will be closed to the public.
The Mexico City Capitanes were established before the 2017-18 season and have played in the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Professional (LNBP) prior to becoming an independent NBA G League team in Mexico to start the 2021-22 season. Nick Lagios, formerly with the South Bay Lakers, is the general manager and Ramon Diaz will continue as head coach, a role he has held since 2017. The Capitanes made it to the finals in their first two LNBP seasons and quarter finals last season.
NBA G League Ignite is entering its second season and will be led by first year head coach Jason Hart. The team will feature two players in the ESPN top 10 recruiting class of 2021 in Jaden Hardy (#2) and Michael Foster Jr. (#7).
As of September 20, 2021, the State of California requires that all fans ages two and older attending gatherings of 1,000 people or more will be required to provide proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test, administered within 72 hours of the event, for venue entry. In addition to the vaccine or testing verification, the Santa Cruz Warriors require all individuals to wear a face covering when indoors, regardless of vaccination status, unless actively eating or drinking. The Santa Cruz Warriors will continue to follow all recommendations provided by the State of California and the County of Santa Cruz Health Services Agency.
